La terra brucia –
stiamo sventrando le sue radici.
La terra la stiamo distruggendo –
noi – i suoi nemici.

La terra – quella che abbiamo
avuto in dono – e a nessun altro
lasceremo.

La terra –  bisogna salvarla –
È qua giù l’inferno!

Che ne sarà dopo che avremo finito di gettare cemento in ogni suo angolo?
Che ne sarà del cielo dopo che la nuvola nera di smog, ci impedirà di vedere le stelle?

E la luna? Che ne sarà della luna quando i nostri figli non alzeranno più la testa per guardarla e li faremo credere che non porta fortuna?

E del respiro? Che ne sarà del nostro – loro – respiro, dopo che avremo tagliato anche l’ultimo albero?

Che ne sarà delle primavere, dopo che avremo strappato ogni fiore e bruciato ogni prato?
La gente corre, fermarsi per farsi delle domande fa paura.
Quando mi fu chiesto “DI CHE CIBO SEI”,
nelle pareti della mia mente e negli spazi dei miei occhi, vedevo questo, e mi svenivano i colori, e mi occupavano i dolori.

Bisogna raccontarlo ai nostri figli che la frutta cresce sugli alberi e non negli supermercati. Bisogna insegnargli che dei fiori si devono prendere cura e non straparli e ricomprarli. Loro e la terra devono diventare amici, dentro le loro anime devono crescere paradisi.

Bisogna che assaggiano il sapore della pioggia e sentire l’odore del vento, li dobbiamo lasciare fuori da campane di vetro. Devono sentire la neve che li brucia le mani e devono essere capaci
a percepire il freddo di un sole indifferente per chi non ha un domani.

E correre liberi, dalle cime verdi – scendere in valle, devono bere l’acqua dei fiumi non contaminata, bagnarsi i capelli e la fronte di prima mattina con la rugiada.
E noi, quelli che sediamo a bordo dei tavoli ben addobbati, quelli con tovaglie e posate e pensieri coordinati, dobbiamo ricordarci che:

Del vino
bisogna essere
il grappolo d’uva…

Le mani del contadino
che della terra
si sono presi cura.
